The A team traveled to Swampscott to face the Big Blue on Sunday and came away with a hard fought 10-0 win.  Nick Razzaboni was the star of the game as he secured a safety in the first quarter to put the team ahead 2-0 where it stayed until the second half. In the third quarter, QB Kevin Connolly connected with Nick for the TD on a 25 yard pass and with Connolly’s XP kick, the Pioneers never relinquished the 10-0 lead.  Defensively, Nick also contributed 2 interceptions and defensive tackle Ethan Downey had several key stops in the backfield.  Dan Dorman stepped in to fill a gap on the offensive line and performed very well while Jake Vinci and Sam Gazit were solid on the offensive line.

The B Team had a difficult loss. The team started out great recovering an onside kick and then driving down the field before fumbling the ball on the 20 yard line of Masco. Masco then quickly scored on a pass and converted the 2 point conversion. The defense held strong and held Masco to 14 Points for the game. Lynnfield scored a Touchdown by Joey Cuchinello and a 2 point conversion by Aj Chiaridonna. With a minute to go in the game, Lynnfield had possession of the ball but came up short with Masco winning 14-8

C team had a convincing win 24-0 over Winthrop. The game was dominated by both the offense and defensive lines. Jared Bernebi, Nick Groussis and Walter Radulski scored the 3 TDs. Anthony Tammaro, John (Superman) Pascucci and Walter Radulski added the 2 point conversions.

The JVC team also came up with a big win with the final score Lynnfield JVC 26 Danvers 8.  JVC started aggressive and scored 3 times in the first half including a score on special teams.  After an early miscue in the second half, the team rebounded and closed out the game.  The players continue to improve and there is greater contribution across the board.

The D team with 19 new players on the roster continues to learn and improve but fell 26-0 to a Swampscott team that kept them on their heels all game both offensively and defensively.  The young Pioneer squad found it difficult to establish a rhythm and paid the price to a really good ( and big ) Big Blue squad.

All teams will face off against North Reading this Sunday at games beginning at 8am at Lynnfield High School.
